Respect for human rights

Basic Policy on Human Rights

With the corporate philosophy, “Making corporate activities more efficient and convenient,” the RACCOON Group has set forth the basic policy to solve social issues through business. We also believe that an organization which “focuses on individual personality and utilizes the diverse personalities of each other” can adapt to change, and is important for sustained growth. Accordingly, we are dedicated to realizing a society in which the human rights of all people involved in our business activities are respected.

(Compliance with International Norms and Applicable Laws and Regulations)

The RACCOON Group supports international norms relating to human rights, such as the “International Bill of Human Rights” and the “ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work” of the International Labour Organization. We also promote initiatives for respecting human rights in accordance with the United Nations “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.” The RACCOON Group complies with the laws and regulations applicable in each country and region where it conducts business activities. Even in countries or regions where internationally recognized human rights are not adequately protected, we pursue ways to respect such international norms to the maximum extent possible.

(Respect for Diversity and Prohibition of Harassment)

The RACCOON Group respects all individuals and eliminates all forms of prejudice and discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, beliefs, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. In the workplace, we provide equal opportunities in recruitment, evaluation, development, placement, salary increases, promotion, and appointment to managerial positions, and we work to create an environment in which diverse talent can thrive. We also do not tolerate any form of harassment or bullying, and work to prevent them through employee training and other means.

(Prevention of Forced Labor and Child Labor)

The RACCOON Group prohibits all forms of forced labor, human trafficking, and child labor.

(Management of Working Hours and Wages)

The RACCOON Group complies with the Labor Standards Act and other labor-related laws. We strive to appropriately manage working hours and provide days off to prevent overwork. We also ensure payment of appropriate wages that exceed the minimum wage, promote the principle of equal pay for equal work, and enable diverse work styles free from unreasonable disparities due to employment type or work arrangement.

(Respect for Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Rights)

The RACCOON Group respects freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining as a means for employees to voluntarily engage in discussions with management regarding their working conditions and wage levels, based on applicable laws and regulations.

(Maintaining Employee Safety and Health)

The RACCOON Group is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace environment, giving consideration to the mental and physical health of employees. We comply with safety and health-related laws, regulations, and rules, and respond appropriately to health risks.

(Freedom of Expression and Protection of Privacy)

The RACCOON Group respects freedom of expression and privacy in communications via telecommunications, the internet, and social media, and exercises the utmost care to prevent any infringement of these rights.

(Initiatives and Framework for Human Rights Respect)

The RACCOON Group has established internal reporting and consultation channels to receive inquiries and reports regarding human rights. When a consultation or report is received, its summary is reported to the Compliance Secretariat, the Risk Management Committee, and the Board of Directors. In the event of any violations of laws, regulations, or internal rules, including this policy, we will take appropriate actions such as correcting the violation, disciplining the offending party, and implementing recurrence prevention measures. Internal rules stipulate the protection of whistleblower confidentiality and the prohibition of disadvantageous treatment of whistleblowers.
